The stage is set in Derry's Guildhall as the signing of the £300 million City Deal for Derry is due to take place this morning.
Those in attendance include Secretary of State Hilary Benn, First Minister Michelle O'Neill, deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly and Finance Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald.
The signing of the Financial Deal will confirm the joint commitment to full implementation of the City Deal projects. It is a statement of commitment by Government and partners to support and deliver City Deal.
Launched on the 24th February 2021 the City Deal and Inclusive Future Fund is the largest ever single investment package by Government into the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.
It is an historic and exciting intervention that will contribute to building a stronger, more competitive, resilient and inclusive economy, will deliver higher paid jobs and contribute to creating a more regionally-balanced economy over the coming years.
