Join writer and broadcaster Vincent Woods as he delightfully explores Derry on Sunday, 25th August at 10.00am on RTÉ Radio 1. The County Measure uncovers the vibrant arts, history, heritage, sport, and diverse communities of Co. Derry.

From the striking soccer of SuperCup NI, local retail in Limavady, to new connections and cultures in Derry City, Vincent takes a measure of all that "the oak leaf county" has to offer.

Poet Mícheál McCann (pictured left) will feature on the programme, while Soak (pictured right) will unveil an exclusive new piece about Derry.

"The new-old energy of Derry, the emerging stories and hard lines of history, recent history, are all part of what make this city and county so vibrant and utterly, uniquely itself. New voices are emerging, new, confident, questing voices in the arts and music," says Vincent Woods.

Soak, one of the most acclaimed and celebrated voices from the county, will unveil an exclusive new piece about Derry on The County Measure.

The poet Mícheál McCann will also feature with brand-new writing about the nature of home on the programme.

The County Measure is a landmark RTÉ Radio 1 series that explores the identity and communities of Ireland's 32 counties.

The County Measure: Derry will be broadcast on Sunday August 25th at 10 AM on RTÉ Radio 1. The series previously visited several counties including Antrim, Donegal, Mayo, and Tyrone. You can listen back to the series on www.rte.ie/radio/radio1/the- county-measure
