Derry man admits theft of £7,000 from local bookmakers shop

A man will be sentenced in July after he admitted stealing a total of £7,000 from a bookmakers.

Daniel Cassidy (30) of Ferguson Street in Derry appeared at the local Magistrate's Court today charged with stealing £4,000 from Sean Graham bookmakers in Claudy on November 22 2023.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing £3,000 from the same bookmakers on December 12 2023.

A pre-sentence report was ordered and the defendant was released on bail to appear for sentence on July 5.
