The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens was delighted to meet a visiting choir from Texas in Coleraine.
A reception was hosted in Cloonavin to greet the travelling guests from Lubbock Christian University Praise Choir, Texas.
The choir, who previously paid a visit to the Borough back in 2019, have partnered with Coleraine Church of Christ to take part in several outreach events.
The tour will see the choir heading to local churches, as well as Coleraine Town Hall.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Steven Callaghan expressed his thrill at meeting the group of choristers, stating: “It has been a pleasure to meet such a talented set of vocalists. I had an excellent time listening to their music and
speaking with them during their visit to Council’s civic headquarters.
“I am always impressed with the relationships our Borough has fostered with communities across the world, and I was pleased to see the choir returning to Coleraine following their visit 5 years ago.
“I have no doubt they will enjoy their stay in our wonderful Borough and I hope they will return again in the future.”
The Mayor will be treated to another performance by the choir tomorrow (10th May) an event in Coleraine Town Hall hosted by Causeway Churches Forum, which will mark the 25th anniversary of the forum’s cross-community work.
