Members of a Dungiven drama group who recently staged five sell-out shows have raised over £2,500 for a number of local charities.
St Canice's Drama Group, along with writer and producer Paula McCaul, enjoyed a fantastic run earlier this month with their play 'Mother of the Bride'.
The drama was enjoyed by all, so much so that all four scheduled nights sold out with an extra night being performed to meet demand.
A total of £2,500 – the proceeds from the play – was recently donated to Glenshane Care, Benbradagh Care, Foyle Hospice, Dungiven Men's Shed and St Vincent de Paul.
The club also donated balls to Rossmar School in Limavady, which it has a great relationship with. They also send their Games Promotion Officer (GPO) to coach at the school one day per week at the club's own expense.
Paddy Mackle, Chairman of St Canice's GAC, said: “Mother of the Bride was enjoyed by all, providing audiences with five great nights of craic, laughs and entertainment as well as raising much needed funds for local charities.
“We would like to thank the cast and crew from St Canice's Drama Group for their efforts and applaud the success of the production.
“Thanks is also given to all those who attended and donated to the charities during the nights.”
