Derry Magistrates Court

After two men were observed fighting with each other in Derry City Centre they were followed by CCTV until police could stop them the local Magistrate's Court heard today.

Joseph Krokkee (36) of Bond's Hill in Derry admitted a charge of disorderly behaviour that occurred on April 19.

The court heard that police were called to a report of two men fighting in Custom House Street.

When police arrived both men had left the scene but were followed by CCTV operators.

Police eventually stopped both men who had injuries and we're treated by officers.

They were arrested for an assault on each other but neither wished to press charges.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that it was a simple case of fighting in the street.

He said his client had been released on licence in January 2022 and that licence had since been revoked and Krokkee was not due for release until next January.

The solicitor said that his client had 'a very bad record'.

Krokkee was jailed for 3 months.
