Derry Court: 25-year-old returned for trial on series of drug charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a series of drug charges.

Emmet Doherty (25) of Cashelmore Park in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today.

He is charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply on December 26 2022 and possessing the drugs on the same date. 

He was also charged with possessing a class B drug namely Ketamine on the same date. 

Doherty is also charged with offering to supply cocaine to another on dates between January 4 and January 7 2022.

He was also charged with unlawfully supplying cocaine to another on January 6 2022.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. 

Doherty said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on September 12 and remanded in custody.
