Derry Court: Judge gives 'absolute final warning' to man who breached his bail

Man returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on 28 charges

Derry Magistrates Court

A man has been given his 'absolute final warning' at Derry Magistrate's Court today after breaching his bail for the second occasion within a month.

William Fisher (57) of Fanad Drive in Derry was charged with breaching his bail by being at an address he is excluded from and having contact with the alleged injured party in the case, his son.

A police officer told the court that police found Fisher in the kitchen of the property and he had been allowed in by his son.

The officer said that this was the second breach within a month but the defendant had no real history of breaching bail.

Defence solicitor Keith Kyle said his client 'took a chance' and went to the family home.

He said there were no new offences committed.

District Judge Barney McElholm said that he would re-release Fisher on bail but with a final warning.

The case was adjourned until June 7.
