County Derry man accused of attempting to rob village shop appears before court

A County Derry man has appeared before a local court charged in connection with a burglary which happened last year.

Luke Hasson (30), of Petrie Place, Limavady, is accused of entering a building at Drumsurn Road, Limavady on June 25, 2021 with intent to steal therein.

He is accused of having a knife with him at the time of entry.

Hasson is further charged with attempting to rob the Vivo shop in Drumsurn on the same date.

Hasson, who appeared before Limavady Magistrates Court this morning, was released on bail of £500 and ordered to reside at his home address.

As part of his bail conditions he is not allowed to enter the Vivo store in Drumsurn and is forbidden from contacting the shop staff.

Hasson is due back before Limavady Magistrates Court on January 11, 2023.
