Shocking vandalism at Christmas Drive Derry.
There has been an outpouring of shock, disbelief and anger in the city at an incident of vandalism at the city's beautifully decorated Christmas Drive Derry on the Glengalliagh road.
In a recent social media post, it was revealed five youths had climbed over the wall at the bottom of the street, this evening, and damaged a train built by 4Rs_New2You.The train was wheelchair accessible.
The youths then proceeded to damage the lights on the Christmas Drive elf houses, as well as lights on the grotto. They also stole three candy swirls, also donated by 4R_New2you, only to discard them at the Leafair pitches.
A spokesperson for Christmas Drive Derry said: "We are now at the point where we are failing to see a way to carry on, when we are constantly out every morning fixing the hard work that was done.
"The work the effort the time and the money that was put into this street, not to mention the two causes that we will help and for our community to enjoy didn't matter to us because we loved seeing the kids enjoy it but when you have vandals coming in and wrecking it it becomes disheartening.
"We have video footage of this and are hoping for it to be dealt with. If you have teenagers please make yourself aware of where they are and what they are doing.

There was an overwhelming expression of hope in the comments under the post that Christmas Drive Derry would continue because of the joy it has brought to people all across the city.
One person said: "You are more than generous in what you are doing and its amazing how it brings the community together and brings joy to so many children I really hope this isn't the end would be devastating."
