Sinn Féin Leas Uachtrán Michelle O’Neill has formally opened the party’s new constituency office in the Waterside area of the city.

Speaking at the launch, Ms O’Neill commented: "We are here to represent all the people and this office will be an important resource in doing so.

“This is about Sinn Féin constituency services being accessible, available, and rooted in the community - delivering strong representation and effective assistance on the issues that matter to the people we are here to serve," she added.

“It is also a symbol of our commitment to the people of the Waterside and of the continuing growth of the party locally.

“We now have a strong team here in the city who are making a huge contribution to the development of the entire north west and as part of the overall Sinn Féin project to reunite our island.”

Sinn Féin's Council Group Leader Councillor Christopher Jackson added:“These are exciting times for Sinn Féin in Derry.

“We had a hugely successful council election and those councillors have since been working closely with the Assembly team as we take forward the biggest and most ambitious public investment this city has ever seen with over half a billion pounds in fully funded projects.

“That is testament to the leadership of Sinn Féin in Foyle which has been the driving force behind that work.

“It is that leadership and determination to grow the party that also now sees us opening this constituency office right in the heart of the Waterside.”
