Northern Trust seeks new health and wellbeing volunteers

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust is now looking for new Community Health and Wellbeing Champions to join its volunteer community.

Would you like to help others improve their health and wellbeing in your local community?

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust is now looking for Community Health and Wellbeing Champions who will support staff to share information, services and resources through social media and events to enhance awareness and engagement at a grassroots level.

Lynsey McVitty, Health and Wellbeing Team Locality Lead with the Northern Trust, said: “This is a great opportunity to share a passion for health and wellbeing and encourage others to take steps to choose healthier lifestyles.

“We would love to hear from you if you have an interest in supporting others to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing, and a willingness to lead by example.”

The role is home based although there may be opportunities to attend community events within your area or office-based activities in Ballymena. Volunteers are required in Antrim, Ballymena, Causeway, Mid Ulster and East Antrim (Larne, Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey). We hope that volunteers will live in the area and be able to use their local knowledge to develop the role.

You’ll be required to create and post content for relevant social media platforms under the direction of the Health and Wellbeing Team and share relevant content from approved partners. Applicants should be competent and confident Facebook users, have a good level of computer literacy, and have access to a digital device with internet access.

To request an application pack please email volunteer.service@northerntrust.hscni.net

Completed applications should be returned by 12noon on Wednesday, December 3.
