Margo Harkin (inset) will also take part in a post-film Q&A.
Flowerfield Arts Centre is proud to welcome one of Ireland’s most respected filmmakers, Margo Harkin, to Portstewart on Thursday, October 9 for a special screening of her acclaimed new documentary STOLEN.
This event will feature an introduction from Margo herself, followed by a post-film Q&A, giving audiences the unique chance to hear directly from the award-winning director about the making of this extraordinary film.
STOLEN has been hailed by The Guardian as “a nearly immaculate, exemplary piece of documentary film-making.” It gives voice to survivors of Ireland’s mother and baby homes, weaving together powerful testimonies from mothers and adult children with the wider social and political context that allowed these institutions to exist. The result is a searingly honest, deeply moving account of hidden histories that still reverberate today.
For those interested in Irish history, social justice, truth recovery or the power of documentary film to reveal untold stories, this screening is not to be missed.
Tickets are £8 full, £6 concession and they are available from Flowerfield.org or by calling 028 7083 1400.
