County Derry fashion designer Jonathan Anderson has been appointed as the Artistic Director of Dior Menswear.

Last month the Magherafelt man announced his departure from Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe after 11 years.

Anderson’s new role was announced today (Thursday) at LVMH’s annual investors meeting by Bernard Arnault, the chairman and CEO of the conglomerate.

“I can tell you that the next Christian Dior Men’s show, which will take place in June, will be designed by Jonathan Anderson,” he said.

Anderson is renowned for his creative looks having designed outfits for the likes of Rihanna, Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter.

The award-winning designer is a former pupil of Rainey Endowed School in Magherafelt.

Tonight the school paid tribute to Anderson saying: “Everyone at Rainey wishes Jonathan continued success in this exciting new chapter.”
