The PSNI are asking motorists to avoid the Foreglen Road area of Dungiven.
The Foreglen Road area of Dungiven remains closed this morning, Saturday, July 27, as police officers continue to deal with a security alert.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "It is likely to be closed for some time, and cordons are in place.
"The Foreglen Road is closed at its junctions with the Baranailt Road and Muldonagh Road.
"Members of the public, including motorists, are reminded to avoid the area at present.
"A further update will be provided in due course."
