North West artists come together to record new song dedicated to the children of Palestine

Artists from across the North West of Ireland have come together to record the song.

Artists from across the North West of Ireland have come together to record a new song dedicated to the children of Palestine.
The flowers of Palestine features singers Nodlaig Ní Bhrollaigh and Joleen McLaughlin of ‘The Henry girls’.
The duo are joined by harpers from Scoil Ruaidhrí Dall and prominent Irish harpers Lauren O’Neill, Gráinne Meyer, and Lucia McGinnis.
Also involved in the project are Cellist, Paul Gillespie from Letterkenny and fiddler, Martin O'Kane.
The piece was recorded live at Dungiven Castle in County Derry and features young Dungiven harper, Bláithín Nic Nia whose name means ‘little flower’.
"There is a fundamental truth and that is the innocence of children" said Nodlaig Ní Bhrollaigh.
"Over the last eight months, more than 15,000 children have been killed and many more have been orphaned and seriously injured. We have been witnessing the collective punishment of children and they desperately need an immediate and permanent ceasefire."
The funds raised by the project will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians and Ms Ní Bhrollaigh who composed the piece, paid tribute to everyone involved.
"The musicians and the creative team gave of their time and talent voluntarily. We want to do what we can to end the genocide. I also believe we have a duty of hope and that we must keep hope alive for the Palestinian people," she added.
The track will be available to download on streaming platforms Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
