'Where has been the US or British military intervention to stop an Israeli engineered famine in Gaza?' - Catherine Hutton, Derry IPSC
The Derry branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) has called upon the people of Derry to again take the streets for Palestine.
The organisation is holding a Rally for Gaza, at 1.00pm, at Free Derry Corner, on Saturday April 20.
Spokesperson, Catherine Hutton said: "Western hypocrisy has never been more exposed than in the response to the Iranian drone strikes on Israel.
"Britain and America threw their military might into protecting Israel and her citizens. The Western media ran minute by minute coverage of Iran's attack on Israel. Politicians jostled for position on who could be most pro Israel in their words and deeds.
"These same lousy hypocrites have allowed Israel to slaughter over 40,000 people in Gaza without lifting a finger to help the Palestinians.
"Where has been the US or British military intervention to stop an Israeli engineered famine in Gaza?" asked Ms Hutton.
Catherine Hutton claimed that Irish political leaders who sent "messages of solidarity to Israel following the Iranian attack are not representing the Irish people".
She added: "Political leaders throughout Ireland and across the world are so far disconnected from the people they claim to represent.
"The people of the world stand with the Palestinians and against genocide.
"Let's send a clear message from our rally on Saturday - Stop Arming Israel. End Western complicity in genocide.
The IPSC Rally for Gaza is at 1pm Free Derry Corner on Saturday April 20.
