Police remain at the scenes of two security alerts in Dungiven this afternoon, Sunday, February 25.

Chief Inspector McIldowney said: “Our policing operation continues and diversions remain in place at the junction of Foreglen Road and Ballyhanedin Road and in the Legavallon Road and Curragh Road areas.

“I would like to thank members of the public affected by this incident for their ongoing patience and understanding as officers’ work to ensure their safety.

“We would ask that the public continue to avoid the area and anyone with any information that could help with our investigation to call us on 101, quoting reference number 1210 of 24/02/23."
