Two roads remain closed in Dungiven area as security alerts continue this morning

The PSNI is urging the public to report anything suspicious that they may see

Police remain at the scene of two security alerts in Dungiven this morning (Sunday).

Last night, the Foreglen Road and the Legavallon Road were closed by police investigating reports of two security alerts.

Chief Inspector McIldowney is urgng people not to touch or pick up anything suspicious.

“Cordons remain in place in the junction of Foreglen Road and Ballyhanedin Road and in the Legavallon Road and Curragh Road areas," said the Chief Inspector.

"As we continue with our enquiries, we’re urging the public to be vigilant and ask that you avoid the area.

“We're appealing to anyone who sees anything suspicious not to touch it or pick it up, but to call us immediately on 999. We'd also ask anyone with any other information that could help with our investigation to call us on 101, quoting reference number 1210 of 24/02/23."
