Derry's Diamond proposed return of on-street parking.

A report recommending the return of on-street parking at Derry's Diamond is to be presented to Derry City and Strabane District Council.

The possible development has been welcomed by Councillor Emma McGinley (Sinn Féin).

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's council meeting, Cllr McGinley said: “I am delighted that a recommendation to restore car parking spaces outside Austin’s in the Diamond will be presented to the council on Wednesday.

“I have been raising this issue with Council officers for a year now, following the successful campaign to restore the two-way system on Ferryquay Street.

"I am delighted that Council has taken on board concerns about the loss of on-street parking in the city centre and look forward to working with all partners to have this approved and actioned as quickly as possible.”
