Derry shoppers can spread hope with charity mini miracles this Christmas

International development charity Concern Worldwide is encouraging shoppers in Derry to make mini miracles happen this Christmas by purchasing a gift to support vulnerable families around the world.

The charity, which strives for a world free from extreme poverty, offers a range of alternative gifts that will make a meaningful difference to communities in some of the world’s poorest countries.

Rachel Artherton, Concern’s Gifts Coordinator, said: “Mini miracles don’t just happen in Christmas movies, they are created by people like you and me.

“These mini miracles have the power to change the lives of the most vulnerable people and communities, from sack gardens helping families to grow vegetables in drought conditions, to solar lights helping children study in the dark.

“When you purchase a Concern gift, you will not only warm the heart of your loved one, but you will also spread some hope and help transform the lives of vulnerable families,” she said.

Last year, Concern reached 36 million people across 25 of the poorest and most vulnerable countries in the world.
