Death of Fr John Downey.
The Parish of Ballinascreen has announced the death of Fr John Downey.
A social media post said: "It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death, earlier today in Antrim Hospital, of Fr John Downey, RIP.
Please pray for the happy repose of his soul as we thank the Lord for his many years of devoted service as a priest in our parish.
Our Lady of Fatima intercede for him. May he rest in peace."
Rev. Fr. John Downey (Moneyneena) was the beloved brother of Pat, Ann, Jacinta, Roma and the late Lawrence.
His funeral arrangements will be updated when available.
