A man has been remanded in custody at Derry Magistrate's Court today to allow police to check out an address for him in England.
Jonathan Leigh (35) of Tamney Crescent in Maghera appeared charged with a series of offences involving domestic abuse.
He is charged with falsely imprisoning a female on February 1 as well as engaging in a course of behaviour that constitutes domestic abuse on the same date.
He was also charged with the theft of a mobile phone and money from the same woman, criminal damage and assault again all on the same date.
A police officer connected the accused to the charges.
Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said that there would be no bail application at this stage as an address in England had been put forward but it would take police some time to check that out.
Leigh was remanded in custody to appear again on February 6.
