Derry juveniles will have to pay to attend GAA National League games for the first time next year

The GAA announced juvenile tickets for Division 1 and 2 will be €5

Derry City will not be playing at Celtic Park next season.

The GAA has announced that for the first time next year it will charge under-16s to attend higher-division Allianz League fixtures.

Juvenile tickets for Division 1 and Division 2 fixtures in football and Division 1A and 1B in hurling will be €5.

These tickets can only be purchased alongside an adult ticket.

The reasoning behind the introduction of this arrangement is for ‘health and safety protocols’ according to the GAA.

The GAA said: “This new arrangement has been introduced after consultation with our counties and to assist with event control and health and safety protocols for fixtures that attract bigger attendances.”

This decision will not apply for Divisions 3 & 4 in football or Divisions 2 & 3 in hurling.

Children have long been charged €5 for championship games, with higher prices for All-Ireland semi-finals and finals.

The prices of adult league tickets are unchanged at €20, while it is €15 for seniors and students for the footballing Divisions of 1 and 2, while also for the hurling Divisions 1A and 1B.

Prices remain unchanged also for footballing divisions 3 and 4, while also for hurling divisions 2 and 3, at €12, but €10 for seniors and students.
