The players' charter has provoked a response
A GAA players' championship squard charter outlining no alcohol, holidays or J1 trips during championship, has been revealed.
Anyone planning trip to Australia, America or Canada cannot be part of the squad.
Also, players cannot take any holidays from June to October unless approved by management and the players' leadership group.
"Unapproved holidays means suspension or removal from the panel," the charter outlines.
Off the Ball's Will O'Callaghan shared some details of the charter on social media.
The measures and dedication required by a club, believed to be from Galway, provoked a strong response with Joe Brolly writing over the weekend that such dogmas are "destroying the game".
Sometimes you wonder if some GAA clubs have lost the run of themselves.

Just saw a charter of commitment where players need to agree to five months without holidays or alcohol and no other sporting commitments in order to play.
No J1 players allowed either.
It subsequently emerged that the charter had been put together by the players themselves, as they have aspirations of winning provincial and All-Ireland club honours.
No other sports are allowed from June on, including soccers and golf.
However, it certainly underlines the personal sacrifices made by amateur players in pursuit of success.
