Santa returns for Project Santa Charity
The annual Project Santa Charity event is back for two days this December.
Organised by Maghera-based Specialist Group, the money raised by the event will be donated to 25 local charities.
Specialist Group's offices will be transformed into a 'Secret Santa Winter Wonderland' on December 2 and 3.
The goal is to raise over £150,000 for the charities.
Dementia NI, Maghera Cross Community Link, and Air Ambulance NI are amongst the selected charities set to benefit from the event.
“All of the money comes from the tickets and the raffle, so we have our events and also a big charity event,” said Mareanne Bradley, Group Marketing Manager of Specialist Group.
“Last year we donated over a quarter of a million pounds to charities but we had two different events, we had one for Ukraine and our project Santa event.”
This year, Specialist Group organised two events, Project Santa and the Ultimate Christmas Charity Raffle.
“Every single penny goes to charity. There are 25 nominated charities that we support and they are all local charities that are close to our hearts,” said Mareanne.
The Project Santa event will run over two days in December.
Children will be able to meet Santa who will also come to check the quality of the toys that the Specialist team made for Christmas. Activities, food and live entertainment will be available.
The second event, the Ultimate Christmas Charity raffle, will give a chance to anybody who bought a £20 ticket to win one of their ten prizes such as a year of their mortgage paid, oil, petrol, £2,000 cash prize and concert tickets amongst others.
“Mortgage paid for the year, fuel or oil are prizes that would benefit families,” said Mareanne. “This year, we decided on a few more exciting ones like a family trip to Disneyland Paris, we just thought of new prizes that would make it a bit more interesting.”
