The Northern Trust Health and Social Care Trust recently hosted a Carers’ Appreciation Day in Magherafelt.
The event provided an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our foster carers and recognise the work they do for children in their care.
Marie McTaggart, the Northern Trust’s Recruitment Co-Ordinator for Adoption and Foster Care, said: “This is the second Appreciation Day we have hosted so far, and I want to thank everyone who attended.
“We hope these kind of events demonstrate how much we value and respect our carers, who work tirelessly for the young people they look after.”
Following a welcome from Shauna Garvin, Social Work Manager for Fostering and Adoption, the carers were able to enjoy a range of pampering therapies including head massage, hand massage, back massage and nail treatments.
Feedback from the carers included:
‘Big thanks – very much enjoyed the day’.
‘Had a lovely morning’.
‘Enjoyed chatting with the other carers’.
‘Enjoyed participating in all of the pampering opportunities’.
‘The Pamper Day was brilliant’.
‘Really enjoyed the pampering and chatting to the other carers’.
