A teenage girl has been left devastated after 11 calves belonging to her were stolen.
It is believed the cattle were taken from the Cregg Road area of Claudy last week.
The incident was reported to police on Saturday as soon as the cattle were discovered missing.
The owner of the calves, a 13 year-old girl, has been left distraught by the theft.
Her father, who believes the calves were stolen on Thursday (September 28) or Friday (September 29), told the County Derry Post that the cattle are worth approximately £8,000.
“My daughter is mad about farming and now she is really devastated that the calves have been stolen,” he said.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “It is believed that the calves were taken sometime between Sunday, September 24 and the time of report at around 2.45pm on September 30.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information, including dashcam or other footage, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1014 30/9/23.
“Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via psni.police.uk/makeareport/.”
