Three Derry City players have been nominated for the SSE Airtricity Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month award for November.
Patrick McEleney, Cameron McJannet and Michael Duffy have all been nominated for the award, alongside St. Patrick’s Athletic striker Eoin Doyle and UCD duo Thomas Longergan and Sam Todd.
McEleney led the Candystripes to the club’s first FAI Cup triumph in eight years just over two weeks ago, while McJannet scored two goals in the 4-0 win over Shelbourne at the Aviva Stadium. Michael Duffy also played his part in that victory with two assists as he added yet another trophy to his growing collection.
The last Derry City player to win the Soccer Writers’ award was Jamie McGonigle back in May.
