Free ‘Triangle Sports’ programme launches in County Derry

Have you ever played football? Have you ever played gaelic football? Have you ever played rugby?  Have you ever played a combination of all these sports? If you have or haven’t played before, BCRC would love you to join them.

Building Communities Resource Centre (BCRC), a local charity, has announced a new and completely free sports initiative called 'Triangle Sports'.

The initiative, funded by Radius Housing, aims to introduce these sports to individuals who may have never had the opportunity to play before.

The charity will partner with Coleraine Rugby Club, Eoghan Rua CLG and Portstewart Football Club to offer sessions in three sports.

This six-session programme offers adults the chance to try touch rugby, Gaelic football, and football/soccer, focusing on fun, light exercise, and building new community connections.

The sessions begin on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 6:30pm, with two sessions hosted at each of the three venues.

All participants will receive a FREE t-shirt with the crests of all three sporting clubs and a water bottle. After some of the sessions you will be treated to some delicious food.

The purpose of this programme is to introduce some (or all) of these sports to individuals who may have never had such an opportunity previously ….. and to create new connections in our diverse community.

BCRC would like to express sincere gratitude to Radius Housing for funding this programme.
