Just four seconds separated first and second place in this year's Out the Line 5K race, hosted by Foyle Valley AC.

Kieran Kelly crossed the finish line in 24:29, just ahead of Letterkenny's Danny Mooney in a very close finish on Thursday night. City of Derry Spartan crossed the line in third place in 25:19, a really high standard set by the top three in this year's event.

In the women's event, City of Derry Spartan Sarah Kelly showed her pedigree, producing her best run to date in the red vest to take an impressive win.

Kelly was a clear winner of the ladies race crossing the line in a very impressive 29.03, over three minutes ahead of Lifford AC's Linda McGrath. Lisa McLaughlin took third place overall.

Over 130 runners took part in what is always a well-attended event, which was preceded by the 3K event for some very talented juniors. It was a 1-2-3 for host club Foyle Valley in the warm-up to the main event, with Darragh Norrby defeating team mates Matthew Mulgrew and Niall Callan. City of Derry duo Calum Fury and Paul Devine made up the top five in an entertaining race.
