County Derry’s Dearbhaile Brady claimed two medals at the 2025 Para Swimming World Series.
The Feeny native collected a gold in the Youth 50m Freestyle and a bronze in the 50m Butterfly.
In the pool of Barcelona, she was one of the Irish athletes to bring home a medal, with Team Ireland claiming five medals in total.
This incredible performance builds on an incredible performance last year as she competed at the Paris Paralympics in 2024, finishing fifth in the butterfly final and being awarded the Nestlé Outstanding Games Debut award from the Paralympics Ireland Awards Gala.
The County Derry teenager received congratulations from many back home, including her Gaelic football club.
St Mary’s Banagher said in a post on Facebook: “Massive congratulations to Team Ireland, who are bringing home 5 medals from the 2025 Para Swimming World Series in Barcelona.
“Special shout-out to our own Dearbhaile Brady on winning the gold medal in Youth 50m Freestyle and the bronze in 50m Butterfly.”
