County Derry’s Chloe MacCombe is set to compete in the World Triathlon Para Cup in Abu Dhabi.
The Claudy native and her guide Aoibh Clarke will run this brand-new course this weekend (February 15/16) as it is the opening event of the triathlon season.
It is the maiden event of 10 in the 2025 World Triathlon Para Cup, with it being the first opportunity athletes have to secure points in the series.
The 29-year-old will look to build on the silver medal she won at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the women's paratriathlon, with Catherine A. Sands as her sighted guide.

MacCombe has been backed to succeed at the event by Paralympics Ireland, with the organisation taking to social media to wish her luck.
They said: “Best of luck to Chloe MacCombe and her guide Aoibh Clarke, who are competing at the 2025 World Triathlon Para Cup in Abu Dhabi this Saturday!”
The visually impaired athlete made her Paralympics debut in Paris during the summer of 2024 and performed admirably despite not claiming a medal, with this making her more determined for the season ahead.
She said: “@corebodytemp Data is back…. Can only mean one thing… Warm weather racing is back.
“Abu Dhabi World Para Cup soon.”
