Chloe and Judith MacCombe
County Derry twins finished in the top ten of their triathlon event at the Paris Paralympics.
Chloe MacCombe was first across the line of the Irish athletes competing in the PTVI Para Triathlon.
Chloe came across the line in sixth with a time of 1:08.12.
She was denied a fifth place finish as she received a 10-second penalty in transition 2 for placing equipment outside the box.
Her twin sister Judith was two places further back finishing in eighth place, with a time of 1:08.44.
The Claudy twins hugged their respective guides Catherine Sands and Eimear Nicholls after a gallant effort where they both made ground on the run.
It was a valiant effort and performance in their first ever Paralympics.
Susana Rodrigues and her guide Sara Perez Sala won the gold medal for Spain, with nobody getting near her as she crossed the line with a time of 1:04.19.
The event was organised to take place on September 1, but it was delayed a day due to health concerns for athletes with the River Seine.
A super Paralympic debut for Judith & Chloe MacCombe pictured here with their respective guides Eimear Nicholls and Catherine Sands. Chloe came in 6th and Judith 8th in the PTVI3 Para Triathlon this morning. A strong performance from both to be proud of.
