County Derry’s Dearbhaile Brady made her Paralympic debut in Paris 2024.
Representing Team Ireland in the S6 category of the 50 metre freestyle heat.
The Feeny teenager was named in the team after she had won bronze at the European Championships.
However it was a disappointing swim for the 16-year-old as she finished 5th with a time of 36.45 seconds in her heat which positioned her 10th overall and so sadly she did not make the final.
Her Irish teammate Nicole Turner finished third and is into the final. Turner’s time of 35.35 seconds sees her advance in fifth place overall for the final tonight at 6:19 pm.
Brady will be back in the pool hoping for better on September 3 when she competes in the S6 50 metre fly swimming.
