Cameron Dumigan is unlikely to play again this season.
Derry City manager Ruaidhri Higgins has revealed that Cameron Dummigan's season may now be over due to a hamstring injury he picked up in the 1-0 win at Waterford last week.
The midfielder, who only returned to playing regularly back in May, has made 19 appearances in all this season, and has been a valuable presence in City's midfield.
He limped out of last week's league win at Waterford, and a scan in recent days has confirmed the bad news.
“We've had a major setback this week," Higgins said. "It looks like Cameron Dummigan's season is potentially over. He picked up a nasty hamstring injury last Friday night against Waterford and it's really, really disappointing news but it's part of football and we’re going into the business end of the season so it'll give someone else an opportunity to step up.”
“We only got the results late last night but it's a blow to him and a blow to us but. We have genuine quality in that area, albeit different types of players but I'm sure we'll be okay.”
