Jordan McEneff's time at Derry City has come to an end.
Derry City have this evening confirmed that midfielder Jordan McEneff has left the club to join Larne for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year old, who last appeared as a late substitute against Drogheda United back in April, has found his opportunities limited since recovering from a foot injury earlier in the summer.
McEneff arrived at the Brandywell in August 2022 following a loan spell at Shelbourne, after spending his youth career at Arsenal. He made his debut at home to UCD in September a month later.
He scored 9 goals in 45 appearances for the Candystripes- the first of those in the FAI Cup final against Shelbourne at the Aviva in the final game of the 2022 season. McEneff then went on to finish the 2023 season as the club's highest scorer in the Premier Division with 8 goals.
Confirming the news, City manager Ruaidhri Higgins said he wanted to thank the player for his time at the club.
“Jordan picked up an injury early in our season and that really restricted his appearances this year.
“Age- wise he’s got time on his side but we’re at the tail end of the League of Ireland season and this is a great opportunity for him to prepare for a full season, playing at a really good club.
“I want to thank Jordan for his time and effort here. He’s a great lad and player and I want to wish him every success in his career going forward.”
