The streets of the Bogside were filled with runners of all ages on Sunday morning for the 20th annual Jog In The Bog event.
From the Superheroes Run at 9am to the main event half an hour later, Free Derry Corner was awash with excitement and enjoyment as runner of all ages took to the popular course with the early start not putting anyone off in yet another enjoyable event.
Named after Colm Quigley, the event has evolved into arguably the most popular event in the running calendar for local runners and this year proved to be among the best yet.
Aaron McCauley was this year's winner, as he crossed the finish line in a time of 17:22, well ahead of David O'Hagan, whose brilliant time of 19:09 earned him an admirable second place. Chris Richmond pushed O'Hagan all the way, and he was just seconds behind in a time of 19:16 to claim third place.
Fellow City of Derry athlete Hannah Wade repeated her victory from last year in the female category, finishing in a brilliant time of 19:48, over three minutes ahead of her nearest challenger, Gina Taylor, who came in second in a time of 22:52.
Jennifer Lynch and Grainne Quigley were almost inseparable as they finished neck and neck in a time of 23:16 to claim third and fourth respectively.
The Jog in the Bog event is the headline event in a period of fantastic Feile events with the Padraig Barton Cup, the Ryan McBride Cup, and the Martin McGuinness Fly Fishing Competition just a few of many events which will take place in the city over the coming days.
