'End of an era' as barman pulls last pint for Derry bar

It is the ‘end of an era’ for one Derry bar man has pulled his last pint at Silver Street.

Dennis O'Donnell took to Facebook to pay tribute and reminisce about his 25 year tenure at the Derry bar.

He said: “Well what can I say after 25 years in silver street that's a wrap very thankful for all the customers and especially the staff that I had the pleasure of serving and working wey over the years some great memories that I'll never forget....I could write a book of stories from serving  the derry public over the years but somethings are better off kept to myself lol thanks everyone have to say i had a great career in bar work loved every minute of it  but for the last time last orders folks lol.”

Silver Street also took to the social media platform to pay a tribute to their loyal long-term employee.

They said: “End of an era, it’s been a pleasure Dennis! Thanks for everything & best of luck.”
