Derry has the second least expensive average house price in Northern Ireland

That is according to the latest data on the Office for National Statisitcs

Average house prices in Derry are second lowest in Northern Ireland

Average house prices in Derry City and Strabane are the second lowest across Northern Ireland, according to the latest government data.

This data was released by the Office for National Statistics on January 15, taking into account the values from the third quarter of 2024.

The average cost of a household in Derry City and Strabane has been valued at £170,000, which is an annual change of 4.1%.

Only the area of Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon was cheaper, with an average price of £169,000, which was a 4.4% change from last year.

The most expensive place to buy a house in Northern Ireland is Lisburn and Castlereagh, with the average house price £52,000 more than that in Derry City and Strabane.

Ards and North Down witnessed the greatest annual change at 8.6%, which has resulted in it being the second most expensive place to buy a household, with the average cost being £216,000.

Meanwhile, Causeway Coast and Glens rounded off the top three most expensive places to buy a household in Northern Ireland, with the average cost being £212,000, which is an increase of 8.4% from last year.
