Arnold and Andrena Boyd with the charity
A Derry family has raised over £31,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer Northern Ireland Fundraising took to Facebook to thank Arnold and Andrena Boyd for their efforts.
Their son, Oran Boyd, sadly passed away on November 14, 2019 at the age of 18 after a long battle with a severe blood cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer were supportive during his treatment, and the family has continued to support it since the passing of Oran.
In 2020, the family wanted to celebrate Oran's heavenly 19th birthday, so they designed Oran's 18 tops with the profits going to Young Lives vs Cancer, with their friends and family showing support by taking photos of themselves wearing them all across the world. In 2021, they decided to start Oran's Memorial Cup, an event to mark his birthday.
The charity said: “Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting Arnold and Andrena, who have raised incredible £31,193 for Young Lives vs Cancer. This money has been raised in honour of their wonderful son Oran. If you would like to read more about Oran's story, you can do so here.

“Thank you for continuing to support Young Lives vs Cancer; we are so grateful.”
