Bishop Street car park had the most penalty charge notices (PCNs) over the past four years across all city of Derry car parks, according to new data from the council.
The car park had a total of 2,677 PCNs issued between May 15, 2021, and May 15, 2024, more than the total issued across all the city's car parks in 2021.
Issued PCNs totaled 2,600 in 2021, and it was the only year Bishop Street did not top the list.
Victoria Market topped the list that year with 578 PCNs, with this car park occupying the second spot overall on the list across the four years for PCNS issued with 2,525.
While third and fourth on the list both had over 1000 PCNs, in William Street (1640) and Foyle Street Car Park (1377) respectively.
Every other car park on the list received less than 1000 PCNs during this period.
Which means seven car parks had fewer PCNs in total than Bishop Street (1057) did in 2023 alone.
Strand Road (920), Foyle Road (820), and Carlisle Road (780) enter the list, respectively, in fifth, sixth, and seventh.
The scenic Queens Quay car park entered the list eighth with 758 PCNs issued over these four years.
Spencer Road (749) and Foyle Valley Railway (516) round off the top 10 in ninth and tenth, respectively.
While the only car park to have under 500 PCNS issued was Society Street, with 455.
Over these four years, there have been a total of 13,207 PCNs issued by the council to these car parks, and there is no sign of this slowing down.
