Derry City to meet Drogheda United in FAI Cup

Derry City have been drawn at home to Drogheda United in the third round of this year's FAI Cup, in a repeat of last season's final.

The Candystripes lost 2-0 in last year's final at the Aviva Stadium in what proved to be Ruaidhri Higgins' last game in charge.

Since then, the teams have met twice at the Brandywell, with each recording a victory, Drogheda winning 3-1 in April, and City gaining revenge with a 3-0 win last month.

This will be the ninth time the clubs have met in the FAI Cup, with Drogheda's first victory coming in last year's final.

The third round draw in full:

Finn Harps vs. Bray Wanderers

Kerry FC vs. Cobh Ramblers

Shamrock Rovers vs. Longford Town

Cork City vs. Waterford

Salthill Devon vs. Galway United

St. Patrick's Athletic vs. Shelbourne

Bohemians vs. Sligo Rovers
