James Aiken, Limavady Road, Derry

The death has occurred of the late James Aiken, late of the Limavady Road area of Derry, passed away at home on February 22 2026. Husband of the late Margaret Anne Aiken, survived by daughters Catherine and Abigail. A private funeral service will take place at Roselawn Crematorium.

 

Maurizio Biondo, Windsor Avenue, Coleraine (Formerly of Naples, Italy)

The death has taken place of Maurizio Biondo, February 21 2026 (suddenly) at hospital, late of Windsor Avenue and formerly Calusco d'Adda and Naples Italy, dear husband of Paddy, much loved papá of Roberto and Francesca, father-in-law to Georgia and Ben, nonno to Bonnie, Felicity and Salvatore, much loved brother of Michele, Mary, Gino, Kitty, Patrizia and Donatella and a beloved uncle. A Celebration of Life for Maurizio will be held in Murdock’s Funeral Home, 2a Windsor Avenue, Coleraine on Friday at 12.00noon followed by a private family cremation. House private. It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Liam Browne, peacefully at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, England on February 21 2026. Late of Heene Terrace, Worthing, England and formerly of 6 Asylum Road, Derry. May he rest in peace. Beloved father of Tomás and Gabriel. Devoted son of the late Jimmy and Joan. Loving brother of Catherine, Mairead and Claire. Dearest uncle of Stephen, Micaela, Nathan, Katrina, Aidan and Niamh. The death has occurred of the late Joseph (Joe) Cassidy, February 24 2026,  peacefully at Melmount Manor Care Home, beloved husband of the late Eileen (Hampton Crescent, Kilfennan) loving father of Julie, Lisa and the late baby Gareth, father-in-law of Niall and Nigel, devoted granda of Odhran, Finn, Blane and Darcy and dear brother of Rosemary and the late Billy. House strictly private please. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O'Brien & Son's Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU on Wednesday from 6.00pm - 8.00pm. Joe's committal service will take place on Thursday at 1.00pm in Altnagelvin Cemetery. Your memory is our greatest treasure, to love, to cherish, to keep forever.

The death has taken place of John (Forrest) MacCombe, February 24 2026, Peacefully at home (in the tender loving care of his family), much loved husband of Margaret (Maggie), dearly loved daddy of Heather, Ashleigh and the late Richard, dearly loved and cherished granda of Cameron (Charley), Zack and Hannah, father-in-law to Ross and Dave, a dear brother of Robin, Alan, Murray and brother-in-law of Noel, Josie and the late Cecil, Leonard and families. Funeral Service in his late home, 162 Bonds Glen Road (Carrock), Claudy on Friday, February 27 at 1.00p., followed by burial in Upper Cumber Cemetery. Mary McKee, 17 Main Street, Tobermore

The death has taken place of Mary McKee, February 23 2026, (peacefully) at her home, 17 Main Street, Tobermore, (in her 92nd year), beloved Daughter of the late Bobby and Gretta and loving Sister of the late Margaret. House strictly private. Funeral will take place from her home on Thursday, February 26 at 11:45am, to Tobermore Presbyterian Church for service at 12noon, followed by burial in Kilcronaghan Parish Churchyard. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all her Friends and the entire Family Circle. "Safe in the arms of Jesus"

 

Terry O'Brien, Portstewart (Formerly of Blackrock, Co. Derry)

The death has occurred of the late Terry O'Brien, February 23 2026, of Portstewart and formerly of Blackrock, Co. Dublin, peacefully after a short illness at Causeway Hospital. Predeceased by his sister Niamh Smyth, Fr Niall O’Brien SSC, and Fergus O’Brien. Deeply missed by wife Janine and children Sunniva (John), Niall (Lindsey), Fionnuala-Fiona and Björn (Jenny), grandchildren Niamh, Georgia, Colm and Senan. By his nephews and nieces Iseult, Killian, Ossian and Cliana and Crowley, Delaney, McCracken, O’Brien, Smythe and Torcher cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours. May he Rest in Peace. Reposing at Wades Funeral Home 3 Upper Abbey Street, Coleraine, BT52 1BF, on Friday, February 27 from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Family, friends and neighbours welcome to call at the family home today (Wednesday) from 2.00pm. Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Kathleen R.I.P. beloved wife of the late Lauri; loving mother of Mary, Rosa, Jane, Eamonn, Peter, Anne, John, Carmel, Mark and the late Susan; a dear mother-in-law and a much adored Granny and great Granny. Daughter of the late Peter and Susan McEldowney and loving sister of Liam, Rosa (McAuley), Eily (McKiernan) and the late Joe and Colm. Removal from her late residence, 61 Ballyronan Road, on Wednesday evening at 7:10pm to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.
