Patrick (Paddy) Bonner, Carnhill, Derry (Formerly of Sion Mills)

The death has occurred at Altnagelvin Hospital of Patrick (Paddy) Bonner, Carnhill, Derry and formerly Sion Mills, Strabane. Beloved son of the late Brigid and Patrick, much loved brother of the late Mary and Isobel and a dear uncle of Brian and the late Kevin. Paddy will be reposing at Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, 31 William Street, on Tuesday, January 6 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and on Wednesday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Removal then leaving Bradley & McLaughlin’s Funeral Home to St. Brigid’s Church, Carnhill to repose overnight before Requiem Mass on Thursday, January 8 at 10:00am. Burial afterwards at St. Theresa's Church, Sion Mills. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady of Lourdes intercede for him.

The death has taken place of Patricia M. (Pat) Coburn (née Moody), January 3 2026, (peacefully) at the Causeway Hospital,  loving wife of Ivor, 50 Megargy Road, Magherafelt, dear mum of Jenny (Geoff), Tim (Natasha), Gilly and Susie (Mark), granny of Chloe, Oscar, Eliza, Ashlee, Faye, Claire, Jorja and Seeley, a proud great-granny and sister to Hilary and Howard. House strictly private. Funeral service in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan on Thursday, January 8 at 2.00pm. Family flowers only please. Evelyn Gillespie (née Cassidy), 15 College Glen, Derry

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Evelyn Gillespie (née Cassidy), January 4 2026, peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family, devoted and much loved wife of William, loving mother to Allan, Stephen, Tracey and Adrian, and the late baby Mary, mother-in-law of Sharon, Marie, Denis and Bridgeen, devoted grandmother of Cathal, Sean, Aiden, Niall, Jack, Megan, Cara, Emmet, Ciaran, Oisín and Eoin and the late baby Gemma, and treasured great-grandmother of Jacob, daughter of the late Tom and Nellis and dearly loved sister of Isobel, Bernadette, her twin Margaret and the late Ida, Annie, Bridie, Seamus and Daniel. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 15 College Glen, on Tuesday from 12noon - 9.00pm.  Funeral from there on Wednesday at 10.30am for 11o'clock Requiem Mass in St Joseph's Church, Galliagh.  Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please.  Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, Derry, BT48 8JE. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

Henry (Harry) Gribbon, 7 Mullaghboy Crescent, Bellaghy

The death has taken place of the late Henry (Harry) Gribbon (Bellaghy), January 5 2026, beloved husband of Anne and loving father of Martin (Margaret), Claudine (Dessie) McCann, Sean (Mairead), Gavin (Kelly), grandfather of Kyle, Lorcan, Eireann, Shea, Shannon, Dearbhla, Connlaodh, Saffron, Oisin, Finn, Conan, Daragh and Eoghan. Son of the late John and Lizzie Gribbon and brother of the late Frank, Felix and John. Funeral from his home, 7 Mullaghboy Crescent on Thursday, January 8 2026 at 10.30am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of St Mary Bellaghy, via webcam St Mary Bellaghy, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Sadly missed by the Gribbon and O’Neill families and friends. Family time from 10.00pm to 11.00am. The wake for Harry will commence on Tuesday 6th January at 11.00am

Michael Morrow, 5 Drumaheen Crescent, Derry

Funeral arrangements for the late Michael Morrow, January 4 2026, peacefully at Foyle Hospice, beloved husband of Donna, loving father of Karen, Michael, Paul, Joanne and Kieran, and a devoted grandfather, dear son of the late Harry and Lily (formerly of Cromore Gardens), cherished brother of John, Theresa, Bobby, Lily, Anne, Sally, Tony and the late Sheila and Harry. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Michael will be reposing at his home, 5 Drumaheen Crescent on Tuesday from 11:00am to 10:00pm. Funeral leaving his home on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:20am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Brendan Mullan, 105 Pollys Brae Road, Limavady

The death has taken place of Brendan Mullan, January 4 2026, beloved son of the late John Patrick and Rose Ellen and stepson of the late Annie Mary, of 105 Pollys Brae Road, Limavady, dear brother of Hugh Patrick, Philomena, Marie and Kathleen, brother-in-law of John, Rose, Tommy and the late Depak and a much loved uncle, great-uncle and cousin. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W.J. O’Brien & Son Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, on Tuesday from 12noon - 2.00pm and on Wednesday from 3.30pm - 5.30pm. His remains will then be removed from there to repose overnight in St. Mary’s Church, Limavady. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10o’clock. The death has taken place of Mary Elizabeth (Lily) McGuigan, January 3 2026, Peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Lizzy) McGuigan. Sister of Kathleen McGinty (Atlanta, Georgia USA), Rosaleen Brady (Draperstown) and the late Michael Joseph, Nan Ingledew (Newcastle-upon-Tyne) and infant brothers Bernard and Benedict. No flowers please. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at J. The death has taken place of Mary McLernon (née Logue), January 3 2026, beloved wife of the late Patsy and loving mother of Siobhan (Thomas), Kathy (Rory) and Adrian (Siobhan), dear sister of Eileen Vint, Michael, Seamus and the late George, Jack and Eamon. Funeral from her home, 14 Castledawson Road on Wednesday, January 7 at 10.40am for 11.00am Requiem Mass in Church of our Lady of the Assumption via Webcam Webcam – Magherafelt Parish, interment afterwards in cemetery of Church of St John Milltown. The death has occurred of the late Robert George Niven, 3rd January 2026, peacefully in Foyle Hospice. Late of Grovemount Park. Dearly beloved husband of Carol, father of David, Arthur and George, father-in-law of Zoë, Judith and Sarah and a loving Grandfather. A private family cremation will take place. Norman Alexander Pollock, Derry

The death has taken place of the late Norman Alexander Pollock, January 4 2026, at Antrim Area Hospital (surrounded by his loving family, formerly of 12 Richill Park, Kilfennan) much loved husband of the late Rosemary, devoted father of Charlene, Amanda and Catherine, loving father-in-law of Gus, Eddie and Damian, an adored granda of Jordan, Daniel and Henry, dearest brother of Raymond and the late Desmond. A Service of Thanksgiving for his life will take place in D & R Hay and Sons Funeral Home, 24A Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry, BT47 3QQ on Wednesday, January 7 at 11.30am, followed by burial in Ballyoan Cemetery. All are welcome to come pay their respects at the Funeral Home (above address) from 11.00am on Wednesday morning. Family flowers only, donations in lieu if desired to The Salvation Army or Royal British Legion c/o Mrs Ruth Hay, Funeral Director (at the above Funeral Home address). Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “Tomorrow is promised to no-one.”

Michael Sweeney, 29 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Sweeney, peacefully at Culmore Manor Care Home on January 5 2026. Late of 29 Drumleck Drive, Shantallow. May he rest in peace. Beloved son of the late Michael and Bridget. Loving brother of Mary, Margaret, Bridie, Kathleen and the late Phyliss, Lily, Eileen and Madge. A much loved uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends. Michael’s remains will be reposing at his sister Kathleen’s home, 154 Hatmore Park. Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Eugenes Cathedral.
