Mary Carlin (née Clarke), Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Carlin (née Clarke), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on October 23 2025. Late of Sevenoaks Care Home and formerly of 8 Broadway. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Tony. Devoted mother of Jacqueline, Maranna, Anthony, Gerard and Elizabeth. Dearest mother-in-law of Gerard, Brian and Sarah. Loving granny of Laura, Stephen, Éiméar, Aidan, Séana, Molly, Isla and the late Jordan. Precious great-granny of Kaleb, Clara and Jonah. A much loved sister to all of her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle and friends. Mary’s remains will be reposing at her daughter Jacqueline’s residence Elm House, Altaghaderry, Killea, F93 H77X. Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, October 26 at 12:40pm for 1:30pm Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the City Cemetery. The wake house will be private from 10.00pm until 11.00am. Florence (Flo)  Elizabeth Carson (née McIntyre), 99 Ramsey Park, Macosquin

The death has taken place of Florence (Flo) Elizabeth Carson (née McIntyre), October 23 2025, peacefully at Hospital, 99 Ramsey Park, Macosquin. Dearest daughter of Annie-Mary and the late Clifford McIntyre; dearly loved wife of Tommy and much loved mother of Adrian, Elaine (Rodney), Nigel and Angela; granny of Naomi, Melissa and Matthew; great-granny of Noah, Ava, Jaxon and Alara; sister of Christine, Audrey, Gordon and Alister. House Private. Funeral Service in her home, 99 Ramsey Park, Macosquin, on Sunday at 2.30pm, followed by interment in Macosquin Presbyterian Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Deborah Graham (née Smyth), Eglinton

The death has taken place of Deborah Graham (née Smyth), October 24 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, late of Eglinton, loving mother of Dean, Stephanie, and Jack, mother-in-law of Pádraig, devoted grandmother of Adam, Caleb and Tom, former wife of Bryan, cherished daughter of Crawford and the late Helen Smyth and dear sister of Valerie, Ken, Greg and the late Sandra. Her remains will be reposing in her daughter’s home, 47 Gortnessy Meadows, Lettershandoney from 1.00pm – 9.00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Funeral service will take place in W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Monday at 2.00pm. A private cremation will take place later. Family flowers only please. James (Jim) Overend, 8 Main Street, Bellaghy

The death has taken place of James (Jim) Overend, October 23 2025, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital after a long illness courageously borne, beloved husband of Karen, much loved father of Amanda, Sandra and James, dear father-in-law of Leah, proud grandfather of Max and Emmy and dearly loved brother of Pearl. All welcome at the family home on Saturday (October 25) and Sunday (October 26) from 10.00am to 10.00pm. Funeral from his late residence, 8 Main Street, Bellaghy on Monday (October 27) at 1.00pm for service in Bellaghy Presbyterian Church (kindly granted) at 1.15pm. Burial afterwards in Ballyscullion Parish Churchyard. Family flowers only please. John Lennox McDonald, 37 Kilrea Road, Garvagh

it is with deep regret we announce the passing of John Lennox McDonald, October 23 2025, peacefully at Hospital, late of 37 Kilrea Road, Garvagh. Dearly loved husband of Jean and much loved father of Angela, John, Derek (Karen); loved step-father of Katrina (Paul), adored grandfather of Robert, Emma, Heather, Jack and John; great-grandfather of Stanley and Olive. Family and friends are welcome to call at the family home on the Kilrea Road, on Saturday, during the hours of 3.00pm – 5,.00pm and 7.00pm – 9.00pm. Service of Thanksgiving in St. Paul’s Parish Church, Garvagh, on Sunday at 1.30pm, followed by interment in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Michelle (Shelley) McGinley, 442 Carnhill, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Michelle (Shelley) McGinley, October 23 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Altnagelvin Hospital, (formerly of 442 Carnhill), beloved daughter of Bernard and Mary, loving sister of Donna, Bernard, Sinead and Martin, devoted aunt of Orláith, Gareth, Padraig, Eieran, Jordan, Courtney, Shannon and Ellie, dear great-aunt of Lily, Darragh, Theo, Jake, Cody (Godson), Karlie, Zayn and Freya and her special little friend Sophie, sister-in-law of Sharon and Shaun and a loving niece. Loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle and her many friends. Shelley will be reposing at her brother’s home, 279 Carnhill on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00noon to 10:00pm. Funeral leaving 279 Carnhill on Monday, October 27 at 9:20am to St. Brigid’s Church, Carnhill for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Joe McKee, 40 Barrack Road, Ballymaguigan

The death has taken place of the late Joe McKee (Ballymaguigan), October 22 2025, beloved husband of Eilish and loving father of Una (Hamill), Eimear (Nugent) and Enda, brother of Charlie and the late Martin and Robert. Funeral from his home, 40 Barrack Road, on Saturday, October 25 at 12.15pm for 1.00pm Requiem Mass in Church of St Trea Newbridge, interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughters, son, daughter in law Karen, son in law Thomas, grandchildren, brother, nephews, nieces and extended family circle. There will be a shuttle service available from the football field.

 

John Joe McKenna, 9 Cloane Road, Derrynoyd (Formerly of Lavey)

The death has occurred of the late John Joe McKenna (Derrynoyd, formerly Lavey), October 23 2025, beloved husband of Mary Theresa and loving father of Anne (Thomas), Seán (Orla), Seamus (Pauline), Michael (Anita) and Jarlath (Amanda), cherished grandfather of Jarlath, Maria, Sarah, Seán Óg, Gabriel, Ciara, Thomas, Fintan, Johnny, and Olivia, son of the late Barney and Sarah, and dear brother of the late Kathleen (O’Kane), Josie (O’Kane) and Brian. Funeral from his home, 9 Cloane Road, on Sunday, October 26 at 12.15pm for 1.00pm Mass in Church of the Holy Rosary Draperstown, interment afterwards in Cemetery of Church of Our Lady of Mercy Lavey. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, daughter, son in law, daughters in law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and extended family circle.

 

Vera McKinley, Westminster Park, Portstewart

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Vera McKinney, October 24 2025, peacefully at the Cottage Care Home, Coleraine. Vera, late of Westminster Park, Portstewart. Beloved wife of the late Uel McKinney. Funeral Service in Wades Funeral Home, Coleraine on Wednesday, October 29 at 12noon, followed by interment in Agherton Cemetery. Deeply regretted.

 

Charles (Charlie) O'Donnell, 19 Oakfield Crescent, Derry

The death has taken place of Charles (Charlie) O'Donnell, October 23 2025, suddenly at Altnagelvin Hospital, beloved husband of Sylvia, loving father of David and Peter, dear father-in-law to Denise and Rochelle, devoted grandfather of Aaron and Emma, dear son of the late Maurice and May, cherished brother of Marty, Ronan, Pat, Fiona and the late Roddy. Charlie will be reposing at his home, 19 Oakfield Crescent, on Saturday, October 25 from 10:00am to 7:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. House private on the morning of the funeral. Funeral leaving his home on Monday, October 27 at 10:20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 11:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart Of Jesus have mercy on his soul. Our Lady Of Lourdes intercede for him.

 

Frank O'Kane, 83 Killygullib Road, Swatragh

Funeral arrangements for the late Frank O’Kane, Died October 24 2025 (Swatragh). Everyone welcome to call at the family home today (Saturday) from 12noon to 10.00pm. Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, beloved husband of Jean (née McNally); loving father of Caitriona O’Hagan, Sharon Lee, Francis, Sinead Diamond, James and Liam; father-in-law of Christopher, Fintan, Sinead, Karl and Janette; much adored Granda of Caolan, James, Ruairi, Cathal, Eoghan, Tiernan, Aodhan, Ciara, Charlie, Luke, Riain, Frank, Cara, Odhran, James, Shea and Tom and great granda of Noah. Son of the late James and Mary and dear brother of Mary Walsh, Bridie Kearney, Pat and the late William, John, James and Harry & Bridget who died in infancy. Funeral from his late residence, 83 Killygullib Road, on Sunday at 12:15am for 1.00pm Requiem Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Granaghan.
