Sean Brady, 3 Every Court, Tamnaherin

The death has taken place of the late Sean Brady, September 17 2025, loving father of Clodagh and Abbie, partner of Fiona and her son Oran, dearly beloved son of Teresa and the late Eddie and much loved brother of Clare, Ciara and the late Eamon. Sean’s remains will be reposing in his mother’s home, 3 Every Court, Tamnaherin. Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Tamnaherin. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Charles (Charlie) Doherty, 33 Drumagarner Road, Kilrea (Formerly of Castlerock)

Updated arrangements for the late Charles (Charlie) Doherty (Kilrea and formerly Castlerock). Died September 9 2025. N.B. Everyone welcome to call the family home, 22 Temple Park, Castlerock BT51 4TE, on Saturday evening from 4.00pm to 8.00pm and Sunday from 12noon to 8.00pm. Suddenly but peacefully abroad, late of 33 Drumagarner Road, Kilrea. Beloved father of Simone (David), Charlie (Courtney) and Matthew. Son of Charlie and Grace Doherty (Castlerock) and dear brother of Chris, Anthony (Julie) and Mena. Funeral from the family home, 22 Temple Park, on Monday, September 22 2025 at 11:20am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dunboe. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. St. Christopher pray for him. Family flowers only please. Brigid Herron (née McCay), 14 Henderson Park, Maydown

The death has taken place of the late Brigid Herron (née McCay), September 19 2025, peacefully at her home, 14 Henderson Park, Maydown, beloved wife of the late Robbie, loving mother of Deborah and Charles, a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and dear sister of Kathleen, Margaret, James, Anne, Brian and the late John. Wake for family only please. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10o’clock in St Mary’s Church, Ardmore. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to the Foyle Hospice and Marie Curie. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

Fr Michael Keaveny, Faughanvale Parish

The peaceful death has taken place at Longfield Care Home, Derry, surrounded by his family of Fr Michael Keaveny, formerly of Moville, St Columb's College, and the parishes of Galliagh, Omagh and Killygordon and latterly of Faughanvale Parish, Co. Derry. Predeceased by his parents James and Bridget and his brothers and sisters, Fr Laurence, Paddy, JJ, Peter, Brendan, Anna, Chris, Mary and Bernie. Deeply regretted by his brother Vincent and sister Eileen (Farrelly), nieces and nephews and extended family. Sorely missed by his brother Priests, Bishop of Derry Diocese - Bishop Donal McKeown, remembering also his devoted housekeeper of 47 years, Ms Nancy McCallion, who died on September 1 2025. Requiescat In Pace. Fr Michael's remains are reposing at Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Removal from there today (Saturday) at 1.00pm going to the home of his niece, Dr Lucy White, 2 Church Terrace, Moville (F93 D2KN) where you are all welcome to pay your respects. Funeral from there on Monday (September 22) at 11.30am for 12.00pm Requiem Mass in St Pius X Church, Moville followed by Interment in Ballybrack Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.movilleparish.com. Family time from 9.00pm - 12.00pm. Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to the Foyle Hospice C/O any family member or Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Director.

 

Fergal McDaid, 48 Dove Gardens, Derry

The death has taken place of the late Fergal McDaid, September 18 2025, peacefully at his home, 48 Dove Gardens. Beloved partner of Bridget, father of Gemma, Jamie and Sean. Beloved son of the Late Raymond and Anna. A much loved brother of Gerard, Margo, Daniel, Billy, Cathy, Grainne and the Late Richard, Michael, Jacqueline and Brendan. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all his neices and nephews. Fergal will be reposing at his family home, 7 Abbots Walk. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.50am to St Columba’s Church, Long Tower for Requiem at 10.00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed on the following link: https://longtowerchurch.org/webcam/. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by all his Family Circle and everyone that knew him. Sacred heart of Jesus has mercy on his soul. Nan McKenna (née Cochrane), 8 Hall Lane, Mayogall

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Nan McKenna (née Cochrane), Lavey, September 19 2025, Peacefully at home, devoted and beloved wife of the late Brian, and loving mother of Bernard (Kathy), Patrick (Anne), Isobel (Brian), Paul (Anne) and Mary (Seán); and grandmother of Anthony, Patrick, Thomas, Eamon, James, Brian, John, Harry, John, Michael and Peter; and great grandmother of Leo and Dara. Daughter of the later Patsy and Isobel Cochrane and dear sister of Patrick and Breige O’Kane; and the late Mary (McPoland), Hugh, Bernadette (McGarry), Isobel (McGarry) and Denis. A special aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Funeral from her home, 8 Hall Lane, Mayogall BT45 8PF, on Sunday at 12.20pm for 1.00pm Requiem Mass in Church of Our Lady of Mercy, Lavey, followed by interment in adjoining cemetery. Joan O’Hagan, Evesham, Worcs (Formerly of Maghera)

The death has taken place of Joan O’Hagan of Evesham, Worcs, and formerly of Maghera, Co Derry, died peacefully in hospital in Redditch, Worcs on September 12 2025 after a short illness. Daughter of the late Pat and Charlie, sister of Donal, John and Anne. Deeply regretted by her sister and brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends. The funeral will be at 2.00pm on Saturday, October 4 at The Vale Crematorium, Evesham Road, Fladbury, Pershore, WR10 2QR.  The service will be recorded; a video will be produced a day or two later and can be viewed for a few weeks. The death has occurred of the late Bertie Sampson, September 19 2025, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital, surrounded by his loving Family, dearly beloved Husband of Millie, 6 McMaster Crescent, Castledawson, much loved Father of Alison, Tom and Andrew, a loving Father-in-Law of David and Ruth, devoted Granda of Andrew, Sarah, Peter and Anna and dearest Brother of Margaret and the late George. House strictly private. Adrian Sharkey, 6 Dervock Place, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Adrian Sharkey, peacefully at The Foyle Hospice on September 19 2025. Late of 6 Dervock Place. May he rest in peace. Beloved husband of Michele. Devoted father of John, Declan, Emmet and Lauren. Loving Granda of Ava. Precious son of the late John and Maisie. A much loved brother of Geraldine, Isobel, Paula and the late Marian and Gerard. Precious son of the late John and Maisie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends. Adrian's remains will be reposing at his late home, 6 Dervock Place. Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, September 21 at 12noon for 12:30pm Funeral Mass in St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Road.
