The death has occurred of the late Derek Hawe, September 3 2025, (peacefully) at the MacMillan Unit, Antrim Area Hospital, Derek, 5 Parker Gardens, Castledawson, dearly beloved husband of the late Anne, much loved and devoted father of Dean, loving son of Sandra, dear stepson of Tommy and also a cherished nephew of Ian and his wife Ann and Denver and his wife Deborah. House strictly private. Family and Friends welcome in Garvin’s Funeral Home, 15 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, BT45 6BP on Friday evening (September 5) from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Funeral service in Garvin’s Funeral Home on Saturday (September 6) at 12.00noon followed by burial in Polepatrick Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for MacMillan Nursing payable to Garvin’s Funeral Service (Donation’s A/c). Deeply regretted by his family and the entire family circle. “The Lord is my Shepherd” Psalm 23 v 1

Christine McIvor (née McCann), 455 Barnailt Road, Claudy

We regret to inform you that the death has taken place of Christine McIvor (née McCann), suddenly but peacefully, at The City Hospital, Belfast on September 3 2025. May she rest in peace. Late of 455 Barnailt Road, Claudy, Co Derry. Beloved wife of Liam. Loving mother of Liam Jnr (Bethany) Aaron (Catherine) and Cailléne (Ryan). Daughter of the late George and Frances R.I.P and dear sister of Frank, George, Sean, Min, Ciaran, Julie and the late Michael and Paul R.I.P. Fond daughter in law of Marian and John. Deeply regretted by the entire family circle. Reposing at her late home from 5.00pm on Thursday, September 4. Bridie McLaughlin (née Gillespie), 11 Carnhill, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Bridie McLaughlin (née Gillespie), September 2 2025, peacefully at her home after a short illness, beloved wife of Tony, 11 Carnhill, loving mother of Patrick and Deirdre, devoted grandmother of Ryan and Daniel, daughter of the late Danny and Josie Gillespie (Balbane Pass) and a much loved sister. House private please. Funeral from her home on Friday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Margaret McMullan (née McErlean), 106 Deerpark Road, Bellaghy

The death has taken place of the late Margaret McMullan (née McErlean), September 2 2025, (peacefully in Craigdun Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family, Deerpark Road, Bellaghy, beloved wife of the late John, much loved daughter of the late Peter and Mary Ellen and loving sister of the late Mary Anne (Smith). Margaret’s remains will be removed from 106 Deerpark Road, Bellaghy on Thursday, September 4 at 6.30pm to St Mary’s Church, Bellaghy. Requiem Mass on Friday, September 5 at 11.00am (which can be viewed via the parish webcam, see link below) followed by burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Michael (Mickey) Simpson, 13 Ferndale Drive, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Michael (Mickey) Simpson, September 1 2025, peacefully at his home, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family, (Mickey, formerly of Benevenagh Gardens), beloved husband of the late Geraldine, loving father of Liam, Michael, Natasha, Charmaine, Gerald, Edmund and the late Paul, dear father-in-law to Ciara, Courtney and Liam and a devoted grandfather. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle. Mickey will be reposing at his home, 13 Ferndale Drive. Family time please from 10:00pm to 10:00am. Funeral leaving his home on Thursday, September 4 at 9:20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 10:00am.
