Eamonn Joseph Baker, Derry

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eamonn Joseph Baker, May 1 2025, peacefully in Altnagelvin hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Formerly of Demesne Avenue, dearly beloved partner of Anne Tracey, much loved father of Ciaran, James and Grainne, devoted grandfather of Isabel and Caoimhe, loving son of the late Joseph and Ellen and dear brother of Anne, Bernadette, Maire, Claire, Desmond, Brian, and Ciaran. Eamonn's wake will take place in his sister's home, 11 Grangemore Park, Derry on Sunday, May 4 and Monday, May 5 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm. Funeral from there on Tuesday, May 6 at 9.30am for 10o'clock Requiem Mass in St Mary's Church, Creggan. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Foyle Hospice, 61 Culmore Road, BT48 8JE. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

 

Rose Barr (née Duddy), 42 Ballygudden Road, Eglinton

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Rose Barr (née Duddy), May 1 2025, beloved wife of the late Josie, 42 Ballygudden Road, Eglinton, loving mother of Brian, Raymond and Sharon, a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grand-mother and dear sister of Kathleen, Joe, Margaret, Jim and the late Mona, Phil and Jill. Her remains will be reposing in her home. Funeral from there on Sunday at 9.30am for 10o’clock funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church, Faughanvale. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Queen of the Most Holy Rosary pray for her.

 

Bridgeen Brogan (née McConnell), 82 Rossnagalliagh, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Bridgeen Brogan (née McConnell), May 1 2025, beloved partner of Mick, loving mother of Lisa, Sinead, Emmet and Gary, mother-in-law of Gareth and Charlene. A devoted grandmother of Callum, Amie, Aodhan, Leo, Matthew, Cara and Jacob and ear sister of Paula, Billy, Seamus and Rachael. Her remains will be reposing in her home, 82 Rossnagalliagh, on Saturday from 3.00pm - 11.00pm and Sunday from 11.00am – 11.00pm. Funeral from there on Monday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Brigid's Church, Carnhill. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.

 

Mary Joyce (Joy) Derby (née Park), 160 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt

The death has taken place of the late Mary Joyce (Joy) Derby (née Park), May 1 2025, (peacefully) at Antrim Area Hospital (surrounded by her loving family), dearly beloved wife of the late Alfie, 160 Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, much loved and devoted mother of Shirley, Linda, Richard, Trevor and Anne, a dear mother-in-law of Ivan, Roy, Tanya and Peter, loving grandmother of Andrew, Kathryn, Steven, Lauren, David, Scott, Curtis, Cameron, Joel, Morgan and Cheyenne, cherished great-grandmother of Ollie and Grace and dearest sister of Jack and the late Derek, Victor and Irene. Family and Friends welcome at her home. Funeral from her home Sunday (May 4) at 2:30pm for service in First Magherafelt Presbyterian Church at 3:00pm (approx.) followed by burial in the adjoining Churchyard. Family flowers only please. Sean McCallion, 25A Fern Park, Derry

The death has occurred of the late Sean McCallion, April 30 2025, suddenly at Letterkenny Hospital, (late of 25A Fern Park), a dear father and son of the late Fonsie and Margaret, loving brother of Gerry, Brendan, Maureen, Ann, Kevin, Cathal, Chris and the late Patrick, Eamon, Brian and Dympna. Sean will be missed by his friends and the wider family circle. Sean will be reposing at the family home, 27 Moyola Walk. Funeral leaving there on Saturday, May 3 at 9:30am to Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Steelstown for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Private Cremation will follow later in Lakelands Crematorium, Co. Samuel (Uel) McConnaghie, 54 Somerset Park, Coleraine

The death has taken place of the late Samuel (Uel) McConnaghie, May 1 2025, peacefully at home, 54 Somerset Park, Coleraine. Dearly loved husband of the late Gladys, loving father of Karen and Julie, much loved father-in-law of Davy and Brian; devoted grandfather of Shannon, Ellie and Mya, loving great-grandfather of Pippa and Imogen and dear brother of Jeff. House Strictly Private. Funeral Service in Killowen Parish Church, Coleraine on Monday at 1.30pm, followed by interment in Coleraine Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Margaret Porter (née Smyth), 15 Mount Pleasant, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Porter (née Smyth), peacefully at home on May 2 2025. Late of 15 Mount Pleasant. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Danny. Devoted mother of Martina, Shauna, Joe and John. Dearest mother-in-law of Sean, Donna and Sinead. Loving granny of Emma-Joe, Orla, Aoife, Conor, Oisín, Ciara, Niamh and Fionn. Precious great-granny of Fíadh, Fáela and the late Dáire. A much loved sister to all of her brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Margaret’s remains will be reposing at her late home, 15 Mount Pleasant. Funeral leaving from there on Sunday, May 4 at 11:30am for 12:15pm Requiem Mass in Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Steelstown.
