Judge slams Derry man's uninsured driving as 'disgraceful'

District Judge Suzanne Rice rebukes 26-year-old for continually breaking the law on the roads
A judge at Derry Magistrate's Court today has said that 'there is no justification for getting behind the wheel of a car without insurance'.
Gavin Hamilton (26) of Duncastle Road in Derry admitted driving with no insurance on November 6 last year.
The court was told that this was Hamilton's 4th driving with no insurance dating from 2024.
District Judge Suzanne Rice said that Hamilton had 'continually broken the law' and described the behaviour as 'disgraceful’.
Defence solicitor Jack Quigley said that his client had disposed of his vehicle.
Hamilton was placed on probation for six months and disqualified for 12 months.
